Today, Dr. Birjandi called me from Jiroft. He was very thankful and appreciative of all your donations and the equipment that was purchased. Both Dr. Birjandi and the patients that are using the beds and equipment are extremely touched by your help. He said that the patients are moved that people on the other side of the world (especially from America) are concerned about their health and well being. However, he said there are more needs in the hospital in which he works and also in a neighboring hospital that is also overwhelmed by the flood of injured. I have asked him to send me a list of equipment that they need. When I receive it, I will make it available on the site. For right now, the Kerman Medical School has sent me a list of the equipment they have already received. You can see it by clicking here.

As of today, we have raised over $30,000. My brother is in the process of sending supplies to a second hospital in Jiroft where the Bam earthquake survivors are being treated. Hospital beds and mattresses, EKG machines, suction pumps, pulse oximeters, bedside tables/lockers, oxygen capsules and infusion pumps should all be arriving in Jiroft within the next week. I will update this site with receipts and pictures once I receive them.
In addition to helping the two hospitals in Jiroft, we are also sponsoring the creation of a school in Bam, under the auspices of the Iranian Writer's Guild (kanoon-nevisandegan-iran.org) and the direction of the famous Iranian poet Ms. Simin Behbahani. Two thousand five hundred dollars have been donated toward this effort. Click here to see our efforts on the project.
